Baked Masala Papdi

Quick and crispy snack option and on top of it baked and not fried. This recipe is too easy to prepare. It wont give you the color like a deep fried papdi because remember these are baked :) ….

Ingredients –

  • 1 cup maida (plain flour)
  • ½ teaspoon jeera (cumin seeds)
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon red chilli powder
  • ½ teaspoon amchur (dry mango powder)
  • 1 teaspoon oil

Method –

Mix all the ingredients and knead them into firm dough, please use very little water. Keep aside for 20 minutes. Now divide the dough into equal parts and roll each portion into small size puris (approx. 1 ½” diameter). Prick the puris with the help of a fork .Take a microwave safe dish and place the puris into it, ensure the puris do not touch each other. Microwave them on high for 1 minute (or a few seconds more if you feel they still little soft by touching them after one minute). Repeat the same process for the rest of the puris too. Let is cool( they will become crisper on cooling) before you store them into an air tight container.

Baked Masala Papdi can be used as anytime snacks, variations with the masala papdis can also be done like you can top the baked papdis with chopped onions, tomatoes, mint and tamarind chutney. These can also be used in dahi papdi chat.

Enjoy!!!!
