Welcome to Feast While You Fast series @ madcookingfusions!!
A quick and easy recipe but trust me too delicious to have it during the time when you have very limited options. This is one of the perfect sweet recipes for fasting and all you need is….
- Swang ke chawal – 1/4 cup
- Milk full cream - 5 cups
- Sugar – 1 cup
- Cardamom Powder – 1/4 teaspoon
- Dry fruits of your choice (I used almonds and raisins)
Wash rice in running water nicely, now take a thick bottom pan, add the rice and milk in the pan and bring it to boil. Let it cook for a while on low flame, keep stirring it for about 5 – 10 minutes. Continue cooking it on low flame till the rice is cooked and milk reduces to half. After this add sugar and let it simmer on low flame till the sugar dissolves. Now add the shredded almonds, raisins and cardamom powder to it and stir for another few minutes (almonds to be soaked in hot water for 15 minutes before you start the preparations for this recipe).
Serve this kheer hot but it can also be eaten when chilled. This kheer taste yum in both the options.
