Mango Milk Shake

Long break and finally I am back, I missed my space & the blogging world so much and am happy to be back again. The mango season is on here and the markets are real flooded with them all over. My kids are crazy mango lovers and so am I but I try to control self from eating them too much knowing they are high in calories but kids simply adore having mangoes all the time.

My son is a big mango freak, he loves mangoes and he can have it night and day even skipping lunch and dinner :) and with the mangoes hitting the vegetable market his madness for mangoes go real high and he wants to have mango milk shake daily and sometimes twice a day but I don’t give him mango milk shake daily, the only place where he use to get this shake daily and even twice a day was at his nani’s place that is at my mom’s home during our recent visit  :).  A place where my kids are pampered to the peak.

They know all their crazy demands will be fulfilled there without too much of a fuss. So here goes a simple mango milk shake recipe from my mom’s kitchen, I clicked the pics there but was too lazy to post it then :) .

Ingredients –

Serves – 2 Glasses

  • Mango – 2 big size (You can use any variety of mango you love to have)
  • Milk – 1 ½ cups
  • Sugar – 2 teaspoons (or as per taste)
  • Ice crushed – 2 – 4 cubes
  • Mango pieces cut into cubes for garnishing

Method –

Wash and peel of the skin of mangoes and chop them roughly. Take a mixer jar, add chopped mangoes, sugar and blend it in a mixer until smooth for few seconds then add 1/2 cup milk and blend again until smooth. Now add the remaining milk and crushed ice and blend the final time.

Your mango milkshake is ready in minutes.Pour in a glass and top it with chopped mango cubes and serve chilled.

My kids prefer a thick smooth mango shake so I use more mangoes and less of milk in my shake but if you prefer a little thin shake then you can increase the milk quantity as per your taste or reduce the mango quantity. Only thing to be kept in mind is that first to puree the mangoes and then add the milk else their will be lumps of mango in the shake which will not give the shake proper smoothness.

Enjoy this yummy milk shake with your loved ones!
