Choco Chip Snickers Cookies – Kids Recipe
This is a special post for me, because these cookies are baked by my daughter
and what better time than this just before the Easter. Her summer vacations are on for two months and she wants to learn baking from her mum without realising that her mum is still in the learning phase herself! Guess for kids their role model are the parents and they want to learn and do things looking up to them.
Firstly I was taken aback when she told me she wants to learn baking because she is too young but then I felt why not, let me be with her and we both can have fun in the kitchen together
. Once I agreed to her, the next question came was what to bake???? So finally after so many options we decided we bake something with chocolates because she is one big chocoholic at home and loves having chocolate in any form to any extent!
So we thought of baking these truly yummy snicker stuffed choco chip cookies..this time with eggs…. It was so much fun together and both of us loved it, I loved watching her do things…..a very sweet feeling!
So here I go with this easy recipe…..
Ingredients -
- All-purpose flour – 2 cups
- Eggs – 2 large
- Brown sugar – 3/4 cup
- Granulated sugar – 1/2 cup
- Baking soda – 1/2 teaspoon
- Butter (unsalted) – 1 1/2 cup
- Chocolate chips – 1/2 cup
- Salt – A pinch
- Vanilla essence – 1 1/2 teaspoons
- Snickers bar – 1 ½ cup sliced (I used 2 big size snicker bars)
Method -
Before you start the preparation of these cookies, pre heat the oven to 190 degrees C. Take a mixing bowl and sieve all-purpose flour, baking powder, salt together and keep aside.
Take another bowl and add butter and both the sugars and mix well with the help of a hand mixer. Keep mixing till the sugar and butter form a soft texture. Then add 2 eggs and mix again for few seconds. Add vanilla essence to this mix.
Now pour in the dry mixture from the first bowl gently to the wet mixture bowl and mix with the help of a wooden spatula. It will form a soft dough. Add in choco chips and mix to form a dough. If you feel that the dough is little loose to bind together then you can add 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour or less to it. Keep aside 1 tablespoon choco chips for topping the cookies later. Refrigerate the dough for about 10 minutes. After 10 minutes the dough will be set to prepare the cookies.
Make lemon size balls, flatten a little with your hands and put snicker piece on top of it and seal the ends gently by folding the edges and make small ball. Roll a little with your hands and flatten softly from top. Please follow as shown in the pics.
Now top few choco chips on the cookies by gently pressing them. Repeat this process for all the cookies. Line the baking tray with the parchment paper and place cookies 2 -3 inches apart. Your cookies are ready to go into the preheated oven.
Bake these cookies at 190 degrees C for 15 minutes till the edges are turning little brown. After that remove these cookies from the oven and place on the wire rack for cooling. These cookies will be little crispy from the top and bottom and soft chewy in the centre because of the melted snicker slices…..yumm…!
Delicious cookies ready to serve
Enjoy these with your loved ones!
